Access To Your Items at Cube Self Storage H.K.

At Cube Storage H.K., we welcome customers to ask us any questions that they might have about our self-storage facility. One of the questions we regularly get asked is ‘how can I access your secure storage facility?’ This question is very important as we try to provide a great balance of security and accessibility to our facility. We want you to easily be able to access your items whilst in storage whilst ensuring other people are not able to get in.

Our fully secure, state-of-the-art storage facility is equipped with both swipe card technology and electronic keypads. When you decide to store your household, business or personal items with us, you will be given a swipe card to use to access the facility. You will also be given your own, unique pin number to use to access the building.

These two things, in addition to our CCTV system, ensure that only those who should be granted access to our storage facility manage to get in. If you happen to lose your swipe card or forget your pin number, we have a security procedure in place to ensure that we can give you, and only you, access to your items.

If you would like to know anything further about our security measures or any of our other services, please contact us.

Make Sure Your Valuables are Safe this Christmas with Self Storage

Although Christmas is supposed to be a time of good will to all, unfortunately thieves don’t honour this tradition. Drawn in my empty homes and new (and expensive) Christmas gifts, thieves take full advantage of the festive season by burgling your home whilst you’re away visiting friends and family members. To make sure all your valuables are protected this year, we recommend placing them in self-storage if you’re going to be away.

The self-storage facility at Cube Self Storage H.K. is fully secure. Our security features include keypad entry, a state-of-the-art alarm system and CCTV so you can be assured that your new toys and household items are safe with us.

Check out our special offers page or contact us today to discuss your storage needs on 29142200.

Wine Storage during Hong Kong Wine and Dine Month

For the whole month of November Hong Kong will once again show off its credentials as a culinary and cultural hotspot as the Hong Kong Wine and Dine Month returns to centre stage.

Kicking off with the Wine and Dine Festival at Wes Kowloon Waterfront Promenade from the 1st to the 4th of November, the festival will see both Local and International food and wine being offered along with international music acts.

Along with festival events; major hotels, restaurants and popular food districts will all be running promotions throughout the month on both wine and food.

With all if this wine being bought, sold and drunk and with space in Hong Kong at a premium, trying to store bottles before sale or after purchase can take up precious room in homes and businesses. Dedicated wine storage spaces are the perfect solution to this problem, and can offer multiple benefits.

At Cube Self Storage we have the perfect climate controlled storage spaces to keep wine collections, large and small, whether for commercial retailers of individual collectors.

More than simply creating space in your premises, our state of the art storage facility continuously and precisely monitors temperature and humidity levels ensuring your wine is kept at optimal conditions. Meaning whether you are buying or selling wine during November you’ll have a place to store all of those extra bottles.

You can store for as little as a week and increase or decrease the storage space at any time providing we have suitable rooms available making Cube perfect for storing stock or growing personal collections.

Preparing Your Antique Furniture for Storage

At Cube Self Storage HK we can store just about anything. We recently told you about some of the things that you could store in our purpose-built storage facility. Amongst the items we mentioned was antique furniture and since our blog post, we have received a number of enquires about this service. We therefore thought that it would be good to tell you a little more about how to prepare your antique furniture pieces for storage with us. Here are a few of our top tips:
  1. Cleaning – make sure your item is thoroughly clean before placing it in storage. Use the correct cleaning products for the furniture materials and the age and condition of your piece. Make sure any cleaning reside is removed from the piece and that the furniture is 100% dry before placing it in storage.
  2. Protecting surfaces – although your pieces of furniture will be fine in storage without additional protection, we recommend covering them anyway to reduce dust getting to them or any damage in transit. For flat surfaces, use a lint-free fabric as this will allow air to circulate and the furniture to breathe whilst offering it some protection from light scratches and dust.
  3. Protecting corners – we suggest using corner protectors on the corners of tables, sideboards, desks or dressers to ensure they don’t get damaged in transit. Due to the chemicals used to produce plastic corner protectors, we recommend using fabric or cardboard corners as they will offer better long-term protection for your items.
Should you have any specific questions about how best to prepare your antique furniture for storage either in our standard areas or in our climate controlled storage area, please contact us.

More Back to School Storage

With only a few more days of the school holidays left, you may be looking forward to the peace and quiet of your children going back to school. However due to the recent awful weather over the summer, you may have gained a lot of extra items over the school holidays in an endeavour to entertain your children. Do you now have more art supplies, books, DVDs, board games and more than at the start of the holidays?

Well why not have a sort out and put some of your children’s item into storage until the next school holidays. This will not only clear some much needed space in your home for school books and supplies but will also help to rotate some of the items your children use to occupy themselves. When the next holidays come round, simply get the items out of storage again and your children will be thrilled to play with them all again after the break.

At Cube Self Storage, we offer a range of storage options to accommodate both large and small items – to find out more please contact us.

Packing Artwork for Self Storage

At Cube Self Storage, we can store virtually anything for our clients. Some people choose to store their out of season clothing, others store their bikes and accessories and some choose to store their artwork with us. With this in mind, we thought we’d share our top tips for packing your artwork for either short or long term storage

Tip #1 - Frame it or roll it.
When it comes to keeping artwork done on canvases or paper safe during storage, there are two preferred methods. The first is to frame the canvas which will ensure it stays tight across the frame to avoid creasing whilst the frame itself will help to protect the painting, especially if it is behind glass. For pieces of artwork not framed, roll it loosely to prevent tears and creases for occurring.

Tip #2 - Corner guards
If the artwork is framed, then use cardboard corner guards to protect the corners. It is usually corners of frames which will get knocked during transit and storage so by using corner guards you will be protecting both the frame and the artwork itself from damage.

Tip #3 - Packing Materials
When it comes to packing your piece of artwork, avoid both bubblewrap and packing peanuts. Due to the chemicals used to produce Bubblewrap, staining can occur on your artwork whilst it can also trap moisture against the piece and cause either water damage or mould to grow. Packing peanuts should be avoided as the polystyrene is extremely static when the peanuts are broken and these minute fragments may cause damage to the piece.

Tip #4 – Climate controlled storage
To avoid damage to your artwork by the air surrounding it, consider climate controlled storage. Our purpose built climate controlled storage facility allows us to constantly monitor both the temperature and the humidity of the air to ensure your artwork is kept in the best possible conditions.

If you would like any further advice on how to pack artwork or anything else for self storage, or would like to know more about our storage facility, please contact us.

Planning a Summer Office Relocation?

The summer is one of the most popular times for a business to move offices for three main reasons:
  • The move will not be affected by adverse weather conditions
  • There are longer day light hours so moves can take place more effectively
  • Workloads are often already reduced due to staff holidays
At Edward Baden, we understand that at any time of year, office relocations can be both stressful and time consuming so our relocation services have been designed to try the reduce both of these factors for you. We also understand that the weather in Hong Kong in Summer can be a bit more adverse and humid, but that should not stop you from your planned summer office relocation.
Whether you are moving to another town, county or country, we have a range of specialist services that can help you – plus you’ll even be given your own move co-ordinator who will manage the whole process for you.
Our services include everything from the planning of your move to the physical move itself, as well as installation of all your furniture and IT equipment in your new location too. All of our services are tailored to your specific needs and we can accommodate almost anything from a tonne of files to a short move timeframe.

Are You New to Self Storage?

New to self storage? How to make the most of it? First of all, choose a room size to suit your needs; we are happy to give you advice if you wish. Before visiting your room, make a list of your items and label them for easy identification. If it’s possible, insure everything valuable. Leave a walkway from the door to the back of your room, if you go for a large one. For delicate items, cover them with protective sheets to avoid dust.
